Your Safety Is Our Priority

We follow the ALARA principle (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) for every X-ray examination. Our digital DR system uses up to 80% less radiation than traditional film X-rays while producing superior image quality.

Pediatric Low-Dose Protocols

Specialized settings for children that minimize exposure while maintaining diagnostic quality.

Lead Shielding

Protective aprons and thyroid shields used for all patients when clinically appropriate.

Digital DR Technology

Carestream DRX Evolution with automatic exposure control for optimal image quality at lowest dose.

Strict Protocols

Every exam justified by clinical need. Pregnancy status verified for women of childbearing age.

ExaminationRadiation Dose (mSv)Equivalent Background Radiation
Chest X-Ray0.02 mSv~2.5 days
Extremity X-Ray0.001 mSv~3 hours
Lumbar Spine0.7 mSv~3 months
Abdomen X-Ray0.5 mSv~2 months
Skull X-Ray0.07 mSv~9 days
For reference, natural background radiation is ~3 mSv per year. All our doses are well below safety thresholds.

How to Prepare

X-rays require minimal preparation. Follow these simple guidelines for a smooth experience.

What to Wear

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. You may be asked to change into a gown. Avoid metal buttons, zippers, or jewelry on the area being examined.

What to Avoid

Remove all jewelry, watches, eyeglasses, and hair clips from the area being X-rayed. For chest X-rays, avoid deodorant with metallic particles.

Important Note

Inform the technologist if you are or may be pregnant. We will take appropriate precautions or consider alternative imaging like ultrasound.

Digital X-Ray procedure

Your X-Ray Journey

A simple, fast, and comfortable process from check-in to receiving your results.

1
Registration & Check-In

Arrive 15 minutes early with your referral form, ID, and insurance card. Our front desk team verifies your information and prepares your file.

2
Preparation & Changing

You'll be guided to a private changing area if needed. Remove jewelry and metal objects from the area being examined. A technologist will explain the procedure.

3
Positioning & Imaging

The technologist positions you and takes the X-ray — you won't feel anything. The actual exposure takes less than a second. Multiple views may be needed (typically 2-3).

4
Image Review & Results

Images appear instantly on our digital system. The radiologist reviews and interprets your X-ray. A complete report is sent to your doctor within 24 hours (or same-day for urgent cases).

Digital radiography technology

Why Choose Our Digital X-Ray

Instant Digital Preview

Images appear immediately on screen — no film processing, no waiting. The technologist verifies image quality on the spot, reducing the need for retakes.

80% Less Radiation

Our digital DR panels are significantly more sensitive than traditional film, requiring much less radiation to produce crisp, diagnostic-quality images.

Fast & Comfortable

Most exams take under 5 minutes. You're standing, sitting, or lying down for just a few seconds per view. No enclosed spaces — ideal for claustrophobic patients.

Digital Storage & Sharing

Your images are securely stored in our PACS system. Share them instantly with your referring doctor or access them via our patient portal anytime.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most X-rays take less than 5 minutes. The actual radiation exposure time is under 1 second per image. Including registration, changing, and positioning, your entire visit typically lasts 15–30 minutes.

Modern digital X-rays use extremely low radiation doses. For example, a chest X-ray delivers about the same radiation you'd receive from natural background sources over 2.5 days. We follow the ALARA principle — using the lowest dose possible while maintaining diagnostic quality. The benefits of accurate diagnosis far outweigh the minimal risk.

Yes, a referral from a licensed healthcare provider is required for all X-ray examinations. The referral should specify the body part and clinical indication to ensure the correct views are taken.

X-rays are generally avoided during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary. If an X-ray is essential, we use lead shielding to protect the abdomen and minimize fetal exposure. In many cases, we can recommend ultrasound as a radiation-free alternative. Always inform the technologist if you are or may be pregnant.

The technologist can verify image quality immediately after the exam, but a formal interpretation by our board-certified radiologist is required. Reports are typically available within 24 hours. Urgent cases (fractures, pneumonia, etc.) are prioritized and often reported the same day. Results are sent directly to your referring doctor.

Yes. We use specialized pediatric low-dose protocols that significantly reduce radiation exposure for children. Our technologists are experienced in working with children and use immobilization devices when needed to ensure a quick, accurate exam with minimal retakes. Parents are welcome to stay with their child during the procedure (wearing appropriate lead protection).
